Senior Software Engineer, Network On-Ramps (Networking)

Location: Hybrid in Austin or Champaign, United States. Candidates who reach the offer stage may be asked to attend an in-person interview at a hirify.global office or hub.

hirify.global operates a large global network that protects and accelerates Internet applications and provides network connectivity, visibility, and security services.

What you will do

• Build and operate scalable Network Services products on hirify.global's edge network.
• Develop anycast BGP systems that sustain sessions moved across servers and regions.
• Build flow and log collection, correlation, and analytics systems for network visibility.
• Develop Linux kernel-based networking dataplanes that ingest and forward high-volume traffic.
• Design control plane systems for expressing complex network configurations.
• Deliver features, improve performance, and increase system scalability in collaboration with engineers and product managers.

Requirements

• Experience building and shipping large-scale, reliable, highly distributed systems.
• Systems-level programming experience, especially with Go and Rust.
• Expertise in L3 and L4 networking protocols.
• Experience with Linux kernel networking primitives such as netfilter, nftables, eBPF, tc, and network namespaces.
• Experience designing RESTful APIs, backend systems, and large-scale distributed data pipelines.
• Strong debugging, optimization, communication, collaboration, and end-to-end ownership skills.

• Experience analyzing and efficiently querying large-scale distributed data.
