TL;DR
Export Compliance Leader (Aerospace): Building and advancing an enterprise export and compliance strategy for electric aviation with an accent on EAR, ITAR, security compliance, and US Government contract requirements. Focus on interpreting regulatory changes, managing audits and assessments, drafting licensing materials, implementing digital compliance solutions, and coordinating cross-functional improvements.

Location: South Burlington, Vermont, United States; in-person or hybrid work is strongly preferred.

Salary: $175,000–$225,000 USD annually.

What you will do

  • Implement and further develop an enterprise-wide export and compliance strategy.
  • Advance compliance programs through quarterly updates, assessments, leadership recommendations, and long-term roadmap planning.
  • Manage compliance projects and coordinate requirements across cross-functional teams.
  • Establish policies and procedures, create training programs, and provide guidance on regulatory requirements.
  • Investigate compliance escapes and reporting, prepare analyses, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Support export compliance activities, including reviewing and drafting license applications and maintaining compliance records.

Requirements

  • Experience in an aerospace compliance role and working knowledge of US export regulations, including EAR and ITAR.
  • US Government contract experience.
  • US Citizenship required.
  • Strong written and verbal communication, organization, project management, analytical, and prioritization skills.
  • Strong IT aptitude, including Microsoft tools, US Government portals and databases, and digital compliance solutions.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with minimal direction.

Nice to have

  • Experience with the Canadian Controlled Goods Program.
  • Experience acting as an Empowered Official.
  • Security clearance or ability to obtain clearance.
  • JD or another relevant advanced degree or license.
