Global Trade Compliance Manager (Hardware)

Location: Lowell, Massachusetts, United States

Salary: $115,100–$165,450 per year, plus potential performance-based bonus and restricted stock unit awards.

What you will do

• Build and operate the global export compliance program for hirify.global hardware products.
• Classify products under the ECCN and Commerce Control List frameworks, determine licensing requirements, and manage BIS filings and encryption reviews.
• Operate denied-party and restricted-entity screening across customers, distributors, end users, and shipping destinations.
• Integrate export compliance reviews into global market entry, new product introduction, and in-country delivery processes.
• Develop policies, SOPs, decision trees, training materials, and escalation paths for Sales, Logistics, Finance, Operations, Legal, and Engineering.
• Maintain audit-ready records, conduct internal audits, and lead investigations and remediation of potential export violations.

Requirements

• 5–8 years of export compliance experience with direct ownership of classification, screening, and licensing functions.
• Deep knowledge of the Export Administration Regulations, ECCN classification, Commerce Control List interpretation, and license exceptions.
• Hands-on experience with OFAC sanctions, denied-party screening, EEI filings through AES, and encryption review submissions.
• Experience building or significantly maturing a compliance program in a hardware, technology, or electronics manufacturing environment.
• Strong analytical, documentation, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with ITAR, enterprise IoT, access control, time and attendance hardware, or consumer electronics.
• Experience with global market entry processes, trade compliance software, or M&A export compliance due diligence.
• CUSECO or equivalent professional certification.
