Senior Analyst, International Trade Compliance (Aerospace)

Location: San Francisco, CA; hybrid schedule requiring work from the San Francisco HQ three days per week.

Salary: $101,400–$126,800 USD annual base salary for San Francisco.

What you will do

• Provide guidance on U.S. export and import regulations, including ITAR and EAR, and integrate regulatory requirements into business initiatives.
• Manage export and import authorizations, including supply-chain, vendor hardware, technology, and software licensing.
• Prepare and manage DDTC and BIS licenses and authorizations, Commodity Jurisdiction Requests, Commodity Classification Requests, and Advisory Opinions.
• Conduct compliance training, presentations, shipment reviews, and formal or informal guidance for internal and external stakeholders.
• Develop and implement export compliance policies, internal technology control plans, shipment review procedures, and classification assessments.
• Support audits, assessments, investigations, corrective actions, findings, disclosures, government-agency interactions, and negotiations with stakeholders.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience in international trade compliance, legal, or contracting.
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
• Experience reading and applying ITAR and EAR.
• Solid work experience in the satellite and/or aerospace/defense industry with experience in contracting, international trade, and/or legal.
• Self-motivation, critical and strategic thinking, negotiation, problem-solving, and conflict-resolution skills.
• Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills, with high attention to detail and accuracy.
• Integrity, professionalism, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Ability to influence and align stakeholders across multiple departments without direct reporting authority and maintain strong internal and external relationships.
• Proficiency in Google Suite, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Nice to have

• Experience with supply-chain and vendor export licensing or management.
• Familiarity with DECCS and SNAP-R.
• Certified paralegal qualification and/or experience in a legal environment.
• Experience in a dynamic startup environment.
• Technical or engineering background and/or experience applying ITAR and EAR in the satellite and earth-observation industry.
• Professional export compliance certifications.
• Experience applying ITAR and EAR controls in a global organization or working with engineers in a technical environment.
