TL;DR
Senior Analyst, International Trade Compliance (ITAR/EAR): Managing export and import authorizations, classifications, licenses, and compliance controls for a global satellite and earth observation company with an accent on aerospace trade regulations, supply chain operations, and technology transfers. Focus on interpreting ITAR and EAR, preparing DDTC and BIS filings, reviewing international shipments, and strengthening export compliance processes across technical and legal stakeholders.

Location: Hybrid in San Francisco, California; work from the San Francisco headquarters three days per week.

Salary: $101,400–$126,800 USD annually, plus potential short-term and long-term incentives.

hirify.global designs, builds, and operates a large constellation of imaging satellites and delivers satellite data through a cloud-based platform.

What you will do

  • Interpret and apply US export and import regulations, including ITAR and EAR.
  • Manage export and import authorizations for supply chain activities, vendor hardware, technology, and software.
  • Prepare and manage DDTC and BIS licenses, Commodity Jurisdiction Requests, Commodity Classification Requests, and Advisory Opinions.
  • Review international shipment requests and assess the export classification of technology intended for public release.
  • Develop export compliance policies, internal technology control plans, shipment review procedures, and training materials.
  • Support compliance audits, investigations, corrective actions, disclosures, and coordination with US government agencies and external stakeholders.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience in international trade compliance, legal, or contracting.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
  • Experience reading and applying ITAR and EAR regulations.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, problem-solving, conflict-resolution, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively across engineering, supply chain, IT, security, legal, and other departments.
  • Access to export-controlled information must be possible without additional BIS or DDTC export licensing.

Nice to have

  • Experience with supply chain and vendor export licensing or management.
  • Familiarity with DECCS and SNAP-R.
  • Certified paralegal experience or experience in a legal environment.
  • Experience applying ITAR and EAR in satellites, earth observation, or another technical environment.
  • Professional export compliance certifications or experience in a dynamic startup environment.
