CNC Lead (2nd Shift) (Multi-Axis Machining/Manufacturing): Leading CNC machining operations for complex prototype and production hardware with an accent on multi-axis setups, GD&T, process troubleshooting, and team coordination. Focus on optimizing tooling, fixturing, cycle times, and process repeatability while mentoring machinists and maintaining production quality and safety.
Location: Torrance, California, United States; onsite, 2nd shift
Salary: $52–$72 per hour, depending on evaluated level.

What you will do
- Coordinate daily work across machining shifts, provide floor leadership, and mentor machinists and operators.
- Lead setup and operation of 3-axis, 3+2, and 5-axis CNC machining centers for prototype and production hardware.
- Apply GD&T, troubleshoot tooling, fixtures, machine limitations, and unstable processes.
- Develop machining strategies and collaborate with engineering to improve manufacturability, cycle time, setup efficiency, and repeatability.
- Own machining operations from setup through stable production, supporting ramp-up and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Maintain setup sheets and machining records, support inspections and corrective actions, and champion EHS and shop-floor safety standards.
Requirements
- Ability to lawfully access information and technology subject to US export controls.
- 5–8 years of CNC machining experience with strong multi-axis expertise.
- Advanced proficiency with Siemens and Heidenhain controllers.
- Advanced knowledge of GD&T, dynamic work offsets, setup methodologies, and machining process optimization.
- Experience troubleshooting complex machining processes and setups, working independently, and taking technical ownership.
- Demonstrated ability to lead peers, coordinate workloads, and mentor less-experienced technicians.
Nice to have
- Experience machining additively manufactured components.
- Familiarity with gantry CNC systems and advanced machining technologies.
- Experience in rapid production or prototype manufacturing environments.
- Previous experience as a shift lead, supervisor delegate, or formal peer mentor.
