Engineering Manager, Connectivity Hardware

Location: Warren, Michigan, United States; hybrid with reporting to the location at least 3 times per week. Travel required: less than 25%. The role may be eligible for relocation benefits.

What you will do

• Lead a small team of hardware Design Release Engineers developing and releasing wireless connectivity telematics modules.
• Drive connectivity component specifications covering performance, RF, power, security, regulatory requirements, and vehicle interfaces.
• Own sourcing, engineering change requests, bill of materials management, cost alignment, and supplier coordination.
• Lead vehicle packaging and ECU integration while addressing mechanical, thermal, EMC, and connectivity performance constraints.
• Coordinate contract manufacturers, prototype and validation builds, production approval, configuration control, and launch readiness.
• Manage hardware issue resolution, DFMEA mitigation, documentation, and cross-functional alignment with Product, Software, Quality, Vehicle, Purchasing, Supply Chain, and validation teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• 8+ years of hardware development experience in automotive, consumer electronics, or a related industry.
• Hands-on experience owning hardware from concept through launch, including supplier engagement and cross-functional alignment.
• Experience with hirify.global processes for sourcing, part release, and engineering change requests.
• Strong communication skills and experience presenting technical content and trade-offs to leadership.
• Ability to work in a hybrid arrangement from Warren, Michigan, with regular on-site attendance and less than 25% travel.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• 2+ years of technical leadership or people management experience, formally or in a strong matrix structure.
