Mgr Trim Engineering (Automotive)

Location: Plymouth, Michigan, United States. Onsite role at the Central Tech Unit.

What you will do

• Lead trim product development, design reviews, issue resolution, and technical direction for seating programs.
• Design trim patterns using manual pattern methods, Optitex 2D CAD tools, and Lectra.
• Apply DFMEA, BEP, Lean, Six Sigma, and other engineering processes to deliver quality, cost, timing, and craftsmanship objectives.
• Approve trim data, changes, deviations, drawings, and supporting documentation in TPDM and PLM.
• Coordinate with manufacturing, purchasing, quality, foam, materials, metals, mechanisms, plastics, and other engineering groups.
• Manage trim resources, budgets, training, performance reviews, and career development.

Requirements

• Experience leading trim engineering and product development for automotive seating programs.
• Working knowledge of trim cover construction, sewing processes, NC cutters, sewing machines, and manufacturing feasibility.
• Practical knowledge of 2D pattern design and tools such as Optitex and Lectra.
• Ability to resolve technical issues using data-driven problem solving and the Basic Engineering Process.
• Ability to communicate effectively with customers, management, technical teams, and global program teams.
• Ability to manage engineering deliverables, resources, budgets, corrective actions, and launch readiness.
