Materials Project Manager III OBS Focal (B3)

Location: Austin, TX, United States. Onsite role with approximately 20% travel. Relocation is not eligible.

Salary: $88,000–$121,000 per year, with potential bonus and stock awards.

What you will do

• Forecast engineering, materials, and manufacturing requirements and communicate demand to suppliers.
• Coordinate materials core teams and product development deliverables across buyers, planners, production control, and engineering.
• Create, release, update, and execute materials strategies for new projects and commercialization transitions.
• Support supplier selection, price and delivery negotiations, contract activities, risk assessments, and performance monitoring.
• Manage materials change control, cost objectives, total landed cost targets, and key process indicators.
• Identify critical and long-lead parts, define inspection requirements, and resolve supplier quality issues with engineering and quality teams.

Requirements

• Conceptual and practical expertise in the relevant discipline, with basic knowledge of related disciplines.
• Knowledge of industry best practices and how materials management integrates with other functions.
• Ability to solve complex problems using multiple information sources and sound judgment.
• Ability to lead small projects, explain sensitive information, and build consensus across teams.
• Availability to travel approximately 20% of the time.
