Patient Access Liaison - Long Beach, CA

Location: US - California - Long Beach; field-based role with travel up to 50%, including occasional overnight and weekend commitments.

Annual base salary: $158,394–$193,988 for Level 5; $164,276–$222,256 for Level 6.

What you will do

• Support patients, caregivers, healthcare providers, and sites of care with insurance benefits, prior authorization, reimbursement, coding, and billing questions.
• Identify and resolve coverage barriers, denied claims, and other access issues before and after infusion.
• Educate patients and caregivers about coverage requirements, co-pay assistance, foundations, and free drug programs.
• Educate physician offices and infusion centers on therapy coverage pathways and reimbursement processes.
• Collaborate with Market Access, Medical Affairs, Advocacy, Case Management, Marketing, and Site of Care teams.
• Document activities accurately, report adverse events and product complaints, and follow HIPAA, compliance, and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

• Level 5: doctorate degree; or master's degree with 2 years of relevant experience; or bachelor's degree with 4 years; or associate's degree with 8 years; or high school diploma/GED with 10 years.
• Level 6: doctorate degree with 2 years of relevant experience; or master's degree with 4 years; or bachelor's degree with 6 years.
• Patient services and/or access and reimbursement experience.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, written, verbal communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Ability to manage complex patient situations, respond rapidly to urgent access needs, and work effectively in matrix field environments.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, CRM, AI, and relevant systems.

Nice to have

• Experience with buy-and-bill or infused pharmaceutical therapies.
• Rare disease or orphan drug experience.
• Clinical background such as nursing or allied health.
• Knowledge of reimbursement processes, appeals, denied claims, HIPAA, FDA, and OIG compliance requirements.
