TL;DR
Patient Education Liaison - East (Rare Disease): Delivering disease, inheritance, and product education to patients, families, and healthcare professionals across assigned rare disease accounts with an accent on personalized support, patient programming, and cross-functional account collaboration. Focus on analyzing patient needs and KPIs, coordinating education across infusion settings, maintaining CRM documentation, and traveling extensively across the assigned territory.

Location: Remote within the United States; territory includes NC, SC, VA, MD, PA, NJ, and DE. Extensive travel of 50%–75% is required.

Salary: $122,250.00–$176,583.33 annually

What you will do

  • Deliver branded and unbranded disease, inheritance, and product education to patients and families across the rare disease portfolio.
  • Assess individual education needs and create personalized action plans addressing patient barriers and concerns.
  • Facilitate individual, family, and group education sessions, including programs with patient organizations and communities.
  • Provide disease and product in-services for healthcare professionals across home and outpatient infusion settings.
  • Collaborate with commercial, medical, marketing, case management, and strategic account teams to support patient care and account strategy.
  • Analyze data and KPIs, document communications in the CRM, maintain compliance, and provide coverage outside the assigned territory as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in healthcare, life sciences, or an equivalent field.
  • 3+ years of clinical experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, mediation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to explain complex concepts clearly to clinical and non-clinical audiences and connect with patients, caregivers, and providers.
  • Experience working successfully in a complex matrix environment, with strong empathy, flexibility, persistence, creativity, and trust-building skills.
  • Strong business acumen and strategic thinking skills; flexibility in working hours is required to meet patient and business demands.

Nice to have

  • Master of Science or another advanced medical or scientific degree.
  • Genetic counseling certification or nursing registration.
  • Biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry experience.
  • Experience in genetics, neurology/neuromuscular, renal, or hematology/oncology specialties.
  • Spanish language skills.
