IT Business Analyst - LIMS Process Expert (LIMS)

What you will do

• Support the in-house chromatography data processing application used across European environmental testing laboratories.
• Translate laboratory and business needs into business requirements, user requirements, acceptance criteria, and functional designs.
• Maintain BRDs, URDs, BPMN process documentation, product backlogs, and release scope.
• Lead EU-regional user acceptance testing, business sign-off, and change management for new features and workflow updates.
• Map current and future-state workflows, harmonize processes across laboratories, and support audit preparation, CAPAs, nonconformity resolution, and continuous improvement.
• Build performance and quality dashboards and provide data-driven insights for product prioritization, budgeting, forecasting, and operational reviews.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in business, science, engineering, IT, or a related field.
• At least 3 years of experience as a Business Analyst or Product Owner/Analyst in software, laboratory operations, or scientific environments.
• Experience writing user stories, acceptance criteria, and functional documentation in an Agile environment using tools such as Jira and Confluence.
• Familiarity with LIMS, CDS, scientific data management platforms, and instrument integration.
• Working knowledge of EU environmental testing frameworks, including ISO/IEC 17025, EU Ecolabel requirements, and European Accreditation.
• Strong written and spoken English is required; the role is based in Madrid, Spain.

Nice to have

• Experience in environmental, food, agroscience, or biopharma testing and laboratory operations.
• Experience building BPMN workflows and writing functional specifications.
• MBA, M.Sc., or an advanced scientific or technical degree.
