Location: Columbus, Ohio; must live or be willing to relocate within 45 minutes of the Columbus Transmission Service Center.

Salary: $116,255–$151,132 per year.

What you will do

• Lead, facilitate, and coordinate work activities within the protection and control work group.
• Supervise the review, installation, testing, recalibration, maintenance, and operation of relay and control equipment, including RTUs, DAS, DMS, and fault recorders.
• Coordinate outage restoration and advise on equipment failures, storms, interruption reports, oscillograms, and relay scheme issues.
• Maintain relay testing, settings, calibration, BCT ratio, and station records in compliance with NERC, FERC, and local requirements.
• Develop project cost and man-hour estimates and authorize and verify contracted transmission construction work.
• Coordinate annual maintenance plans and support the AEP System Safety Process and Zero Harm objectives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree from an ABET-accredited institution in electrical engineering, electrical engineering technology, or a related discipline, plus typically five years of related protection and control experience; or an associate degree in electrical engineering technology or a related field plus at least eight years of related experience.
• Experience in protection and control-related activities.
• Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
• Ability to lead, facilitate, and coordinate the work of others.
• Must live or be willing to relocate within 45 minutes of the Columbus Transmission Service Center in Columbus, Ohio.
