General Maintenance Worker - Full-time (HVAC)

Location: Lawrence Memorial Hospital, 170 Governors Avenue, Medford, MA 02155, United States. Full-time, 40 hours per week, 2nd shift, with every other holiday rotation.

Pay range: $20.12–$25.15 per hour, based on full-time equivalent.

What you will do

• Perform general, preventive, inspection, servicing, repair, overhaul, and construction duties across hospital buildings and grounds.
• Repair and maintain electrical equipment, HVAC systems, plumbing, lighting, circuits, fixtures, boilers, air-handling units, medical gas, steam, and hot-water systems.
• Handle carpentry, sheet metal, tile, painting, plaster, brickwork, concrete, soldering, and welding tasks as assigned.
• Service, troubleshoot, install, and replace hospital equipment and patient beds according to diagrams, manuals, and manufacturer specifications.
• Inspect and repair hospital safety equipment, manage parts inventory, procure materials, and keep work areas organized.
• Participate in snow removal, sanding, emergency repairs, project work, and collaboration with plant operations staff.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least one year of building maintenance experience.
• On-the-job training in one or more building trades.
• Knowledge of general maintenance procedures and safe operation of repair tools and equipment.
• Basic knowledge of electricity, plumbing, carpentry, and painting, with the ability to read blueprints and specifications.
• Ability to bend, squat, stoop, lift heavy items occasionally, stand and walk for extended periods, and climb stairs and ladders.

Nice to have

• Completion of a vocational or trade school program.
• Two years of building maintenance experience.
