Facilities Maintenance Technician - 2nd Shift

Location: Stafford, Connecticut, United States; onsite, 2nd shift

What you will do

• Maintain and repair the facility, production equipment, grounds, and building systems.
• Complete carpentry, framing, remodeling, upfitting, repair, and construction finishing projects.
• Perform plumbing, electrical, HVAC, roofing, glazing, irrigation, and grounds maintenance work.
• Operate trenchers and soil augers, install forms and header boards, grade dirt areas, and assist with snow removal.
• Document maintenance requests and preventive maintenance work, communicate incomplete work, and coordinate with subcontractors and vendors.
• Participate in ongoing safety, chemical handling, and cross-functional training.

Requirements

• Proven carpentry and framing experience in commercial or industrial building maintenance.
• General maintenance knowledge, mechanical aptitude, and safe use of manual and power tools.
• Ability to lift and carry 75 lbs and work 9–10 hour days while standing for most of the shift.
• Ability to read and follow technical and construction instructions, manuals, specifications, schematics, and diagrams.
• General computer skills for electronic work orders, data entry, and email communication.
• English communication skills sufficient to perform the job; valid driver’s license, clean driving record, regular attendance, travel, overtime, weekend, and on-call availability required.

Nice to have

• Floor work experience.
• Experience reading wiring diagrams, P&IDs, and technical as-built drawings.
• Ability to troubleshoot electromagnetic equipment.
