Global Commodity Manager - Metal Fabrication

Location: Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA; ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 30% of the time

What you will do

• Define and communicate global commodity strategies for assigned metal fabrication commodities and products.
• Manage supplier relationships, supplier development, quarterly business reviews, and supplier scorecards.
• Lead sourcing initiatives and negotiate Master Supply Agreements to reduce total acquisition costs and improve value.
• Optimize supplier-to-customer supply chains by reducing lead times and managing material availability.
• Coordinate cross-functional initiatives involving quality, pricing, inventory, and supply continuity.
• Monitor commodity markets, supplier performance, quality audits, price variations, and supply risks.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
• At least 6 years of experience in strategic sourcing, supplier quality, or operational management.
• Experience with supplier negotiations, contracts, purchasing techniques, cost reduction, and bidding.
• Knowledge of product conformity, quality tools, problem-solving methodologies, and supply-risk mitigation.
• Ability to analyze market dynamics and competitive landscapes, manage priorities, and meet deadlines in a changing environment.
• Knowledge of ERP systems and willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 30% of the time.

Nice to have

• Strong knowledge of metal fabrication processes.
• Previous commodity management experience.
• Knowledge of continuous improvement and Six Sigma methodologies.
• Experience with SAP or an equivalent ERP system.
