Commodity Manager (Manufacturing)

Location: Onsite at the hirify.global corporate campus in Pella, Iowa, USA. Significant travel is expected.

What you will do

• Lead cross-functional teams in developing commodity strategies to improve total cost, reduce lead times, rationalize supply, and deliver year-over-year price improvements.
• Build supplier relationships, coordinate with purchasing and materials managers, review performance metrics, and mitigate commodity-related supply risks.
• Analyze market forces and develop annual cost-reduction strategies with key suppliers.
• Lead internal management groups in addressing long-term commodity needs and administer supplier audits, site reviews, and supply-breakdown resolution.
• Use data analysis and sourcing tools to support decisions based on price, supplier location, and supplier capability.
• Partner with engineering, lifecycle, and regional procurement teams on strategies for make-to-print and off-the-shelf items.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, supply chain management, or business.
• At least four years of experience in supply chain or operations, including at least two years in procurement.
• Knowledge of warehouse inventory management, engineering blueprints, contract law, purchase orders, blanket orders, and marketing and sales data.
• Ability to manage conflict, take ownership of commodity projects, prioritize multiple projects, and meet deadlines.
• Professional supplier communication and advanced negotiation skills.
• Experience with ERP and data analytics software, including Power BI, Power Apps, and SQL Developer. CPSM or CSCP certification is preferred.
