What you will do

• Provide scientific leadership for obesity drug discovery programs from target identification and validation through candidate selection.
• Develop translational pharmacology strategies for novel therapeutic mechanisms and candidate optimization.
• Design, oversee, and interpret in vitro and in vivo studies covering efficacy, mechanism of action, PK/PD, and biomarkers.
• Integrate human biology, pharmacology, efficacy, PK/PD, and biomarker data to guide scientific decisions.
• Lead cross-functional scientific discussions, influence program direction, and present findings to project teams, senior leadership, and external audiences.
• Mentor scientists and contribute to publications, presentations, and scientific strategy for obesity research.

Requirements

• PhD, PharmD, or MD with relevant postdoctoral training and experience, or a master's degree with 5+ years of relevant experience, or a bachelor's degree with 7+ years of pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or drug discovery research experience.
• PhD in pharmacology, physiology, endocrinology, cell biology, molecular biology, or a related discipline with 5+ years of pharmaceutical or biotechnology drug discovery experience is preferred.
• Extensive expertise in GPCR biology, pharmacology, signaling, receptor pharmacology, signal transduction, and mechanism-of-action studies.
• Experience developing and applying GPCR-based in vitro assays, including functional signaling, ligand binding, receptor internalization, β-arrestin, cAMP, calcium mobilization, and biased signaling assays.
• Experience with biologic therapeutics, in vivo pharmacology, target validation, candidate selection, and integrated translational data interpretation.
• Scientific leadership, complex problem-solving, cross-functional collaboration, mentoring, and strong written and verbal communication skills.
