Salary: $84,500–$162,000 USD annually, plus eligibility for short-term incentive programs.

What you will do

• Perform autonomous laboratory research and develop methods for gastrointestinal pharmacology programs.
• Execute discovery screening funnels for novel test articles.
• Design, conduct, and analyze in vivo pharmacology studies using colitis and other gastrointestinal mouse models.
• Conduct experiments with human blood, intestinal tissue, primary cells, and ex vivo intestinal tissue assays.
• Interpret multidisciplinary data, formulate conclusions, and design follow-up experiments.
• Prepare regulatory documents and present research at internal and external scientific meetings.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree with typically 7 years of relevant experience, or a master’s degree with typically 5 years of relevant experience.
• Required experience with colitis models or humanized mouse models, biologics molecule screening, and human tissue handling.
• Strong practical knowledge of gastrointestinal physiology, inflammation, and mucosal immunity.
• Proficiency in mouse restraint, oral, retro-orbital, and intraperitoneal dosing, as well as rodent necropsy.
• Technical experience with RT-qPCR, Western blotting, and multiparameter flow cytometry.
• Strong scientific writing, verbal communication, data analysis, and presentation skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with in vitro and in vivo cell-killing endpoints.
• Advanced primary cell culture experience, including isolation and inflammatory activation of human and rodent cells.
