Network Test Range Technician

Location: Huntsville, Alabama, United States. Travel to test ranges is required 20–40% of the time, including Fort Sill, White Sands Missile Range, and Redstone Test Range.

What you will do

• Plan, coordinate, and execute network test and evaluation events.
• Build and configure mission networks at multiple test ranges.
• Provide data and real-time or recorded video feeds from test ranges to control rooms.
• Manage IP addressing, VLANs, network access, and Network Attached Storage.
• Convert Cat6 data lines to fiber networks and back, and support RF network links.
• Diagnose bandwidth and network issues, analyze data flows and delays, and document test results and solutions.

Requirements

• Ability to obtain a Secret clearance.
• At least 2 years of network experience.
• Knowledge of installing and configuring networks and network equipment.
• Understanding of UDP/TCP packets, video streaming, and VoIP.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex technical problems and communicate with people at different technical levels.
• Proficiency with computers, software, and database systems; ability to travel 20–40%.

Nice to have

• At least 2 years of test-range experience.
• Experience with Wireshark or comparable network-analysis tools.
