Sr. Systems Engineer 2 - Azure Cloud Platform (Azure)

Location: Hybrid, based at an hirify.global corporate office in Philadelphia, PA; Kennett Square, PA; Baltimore, MD; Chicago, IL; Oak Brook, IL; Oakbrook Terrace, IL; or Washington, DC.

Annual salary: $117,600–$161,700, with a 15% annual bonus for eligible positions.

What you will do

• Design, implement, support, troubleshoot, optimize, and document complex infrastructure systems.
• Design and deliver cloud, non-cloud, and hybrid-cloud platforms for secure and reliable application hosting.
• Gather requirements, perform feasibility analysis, and produce system specifications, architecture diagrams, implementation plans, and technical presentations.
• Develop migration strategies, resource plans, project schedules, integrations, and emerging technology recommendations.
• Apply monitoring, automation, security, compliance, governance, cost, and capacity management practices across Azure environments.
• Lead peer code reviews, supervise interns and apprentices, coach system engineers, and collaborate with architecture, project, business, vendor, and IT teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Networking, or a related field.
• 4–7 years of experience in IT infrastructure design, application design, cloud computing, disaster recovery, or 6–9 years of relevant experience.
• Experience with system administration and Microsoft Azure cloud platforms, including designing and managing secure infrastructure for data analytics.
• Proficiency with PowerShell, Ansible, or another scripting tool for automation, reporting, and monitoring.
• Advanced troubleshooting, monitoring, problem-solving, communication, documentation, financial impact analysis, and process improvement skills.
• Ability to translate complex technical issues for business stakeholders, influence cross-functional teams, and mentor less experienced engineers.

Nice to have

• Azure Solutions Architect, Azure Fundamentals, Power BI, or Databricks certifications.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Fabric, Azure AI, Azure ML, Azure Databricks, Azure Data Lake, Synapse, and Azure SQL database services.
• Experience with physical and virtual hardware models, patching, vulnerability remediation, and security controls.
