QA Technician - 2nd Shift (Food Manufacturing)

Location: Beloit, Wisconsin, United States; onsite manufacturing environment. The role requires third-shift work, including weekends, overtime, and off-shift coverage as needed.

Base pay: $22.50 per hour

What you will do

• Monitor production processes and products through sensory evaluation, weight control, and analytical testing.
• Evaluate raw materials, in-process products, finished goods, and supplier-produced products against quality specifications.
• Perform laboratory testing for parameters such as moisture, free fatty acids, salt, weight, size, color, package fill, and seal integrity.
• Document test results and communicate quality concerns and out-of-specification findings to QA and Production leadership.
• Conduct pre-operational inspections, sanitation verifications, and allergen-control checks before production starts.
• Maintain safe, clean, organized laboratory and production work areas while following chemical-handling and workplace safety procedures.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Strong attention to detail, written and verbal communication, and commitment to quality standards.
• Ability to pass a basic math skills assessment and accurately perform testing, collect data, and maintain documentation.
• Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.
• Ability to safely handle chemicals and follow laboratory safety procedures.
• Ability to lift or move up to 50 pounds and perform physical activities required in a manufacturing environment.

Nice to have

• At least one year of experience in food manufacturing, production, or quality assurance.
• Experience with moisture, FFA, salt, or similar analytical testing methods.
• Experience with product inspections, sanitation verifications, and pre-operational audits.
• Knowledge of food safety, quality systems, and manufacturing best practices.
