Senior Buyer Planner (Pharmaceutical Manufacturing)

Location: Charlottesville, VA, United States; onsite

Salary: $72,000–$90,000 per year

What you will do

• Procure raw materials and packaging, obtain competitive quotes, and support manufacturing and project needs.
• Manage assigned supplier relationships, purchase orders, delivery performance, and critical material orders.
• Plan production and project materials, maintain MRP data, and coordinate material availability for production schedules.
• Manage raw material, in-transit, and consignment inventory while maintaining allocations, pick lists, safety stock, reorder points, and lot sizes.
• Identify supply risks and develop mitigation plans; participate in supplier qualification and internal and external audits.
• Author and review supply-chain and quality documentation and lead continuous-improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• Associate or bachelor's degree, or at least five years of experience in purchasing, material planning, and/or vendor management.
• Previous inventory-management and materials-procurement experience.
• Proficiency with SAP or another ERP system and Microsoft Office, especially Outlook, Word, and Excel.
• Strong organization, communication, problem-solving, negotiation, and prioritization skills.
• Experience managing multiple priorities and proactively identifying and resolving problems.

Nice to have

• Experience in a cGMP-regulated environment or with production planning.
• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain or a related field.
• Experience with supplier performance, critical material requirements, inventory strategies, supplier qualification, audits, or supply-chain risk mitigation.
