Sr Field Applications Scientist (Genomics)

Location: Remote in Southern California, United States

Salary: $98,400–$147,600 base annual salary, plus eligibility for variable cash programs and, where applicable, equity.

What you will do

• Support and train external customers in core genomic technologies.
• Train and onboard commercial team members to provide effective scientific support.
• Deliver technical presentations to customers, scientific meetings, and conferences.
• Advise customers on study design, product selection, positioning, competitor differentiation, and technology transfer opportunities.
• Troubleshoot protocols and assess equipment and laboratory capabilities in customer laboratories.
• Document technical inquiries in Salesforce and support customers and commercial teams with technical problem-solving.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of related experience with a bachelor's degree, 3 years with a master's degree, a PhD without experience, or equivalent experience.
• BS degree in life sciences or a related field; an advanced degree is preferred.
• At least 5 years of laboratory experience, including technical troubleshooting, and 2–5 years of customer support experience.
• Experience with scientific customers, core laboratories, technology applications, and study designs.
• Strong communication, presentation, organizational, planning, problem-solving, and independent working skills.
• Ability to learn and communicate complex technical and medical terminology and maintain current product and competitor knowledge.

Nice to have

• Healthcare or pharmaceutical industry experience.
• Experience training others and familiarity with CRM systems.
• Molecular biology or biochemistry experience involving nucleic acid or protein research techniques.
