Head of Communications (AI)

Location: San Francisco or New York City, in office 5 days a week

What you will do

• Define the communications strategy with leadership and help shape Factory's long-term direction and vision.
• Develop the company narrative through product milestones, customer outcomes, thought leadership, and campaigns.
• Lead media relations as the primary spokesperson and liaison with top-tier press.
• Run communications for product launches, funding announcements, partnerships, and other major company moments.
• Build issues-management and crisis-response plans, while growing owned audiences and executive visibility.
• Shape internal communications and recruit communications staff and agency partners as the function grows.

Requirements

• 10+ years of communications experience at high-growth technology companies, including senior leadership roles.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication, storytelling, and editorial judgment.
• Ability to translate complex technical concepts into compelling narratives for broad audiences.
• Hands-on media relations experience with an established top-tier press network.
• Strong understanding of traditional and new media, content discovery, search, and AI answer engines, including LLM citation and surfacing dynamics.
• Experience with high-stakes issues management, crisis communications, measurement, and analytics tools.
