Senior Hardware Engineer (Defence)

What you will do

• Lead end-to-end board design using Altium Designer, focusing on HDI techniques and high-frequency routing.
• Oversee the design, simulation, and implementation of custom RF components and signal conditioning chains.
• Direct antenna design and placement simulations using CST Studio Suite and Altair FEKO to optimize RF performance.
• Drive mechanical packaging and electro-mechanical integration in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
• Establish rigorous testing and validation frameworks to ensure hardware survivability against defence standards.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to long-term hardware architectural roadmaps.

Requirements

• 6+ years of professional experience leading complex electronic or RF hardware systems.
• Expert proficiency in Altium Designer with a track record of bringing complex HDI and high-speed PCBs to production.
• Deep experience in RF circuit design and electromagnetic simulation tools like CST Studio Suite or Altair FEKO.
• Advanced system-level debugging capability across hardware, RF, software, and firmware boundaries.
• Experience in Defence, Aerospace, Telecommunications, or high-reliability hardware sectors.
• Must be based in Berlin for onsite work.
