Database Administrator (Oracle): Managing critical and high-availability Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, and PostgreSQL environments with an accent on performance, security, reliability, and business continuity. Focus on implementing backup and disaster recovery strategies, tuning complex queries, administering Oracle RAC and Data Guard, and automating database operations.

Location: Lisbon, Portugal — Hybrid

Salary: €1,900–€2,100 gross/month, including fixed and variable compensation, meal allowance, remote-work allowance, and benefits.

What you will do

Administer critical and high-availability Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, and PostgreSQL environments.
Install, configure, maintain, monitor, upgrade, and migrate database platforms.
Optimize queries and database performance, investigate deadlocks, tune parameters, and resolve complex incidents.
Implement backup, restore, contingency, and disaster recovery strategies, including recovery tests.
Manage database security, users, roles, permissions, authentication, and access policies.
Automate database administration and maintenance tasks using Bash, Cron, PowerShell, and Python.

Requirements

At least 5 years of experience administering databases in critical and high-availability environments.
Strong experience with Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, and PostgreSQL; knowledge of MySQL.
Experience with Linux, Unix, and Windows Server.
Advanced Oracle administration, including RAC, ASM, Data Guard, GoldenGate, OEM, RMAN, Grid Infrastructure, Exadata Cloud, and Cloud Control.
Experience with PostgreSQL backup and restore, maintenance scheduling, secure authentication, pgAdmin, and least-privilege access management.
Portuguese at native level and advanced technical English, spoken and written.

Nice to have

Intermediate or advanced Spanish.
Experience in multinational and dynamic technical environments.
Strong knowledge of database automation and continuous improvement practices.
