TL;DR
Senior Network Engineer (Cisco/Palo Alto): Designing, implementing, operating, and sustaining secure enterprise networks and unified communications infrastructure with an accent on Cisco networking, Palo Alto firewalls, classified connectivity, and Zero Trust segmentation. Focus on leading complex troubleshooting and controlled network changes, validating patches and configurations in test environments, and supporting USCYBERCOM and AFCYBER taskings.

Location: On-site at a government site in Quantico, Virginia, United States

Salary: $87,000–$120,000 per year

What you will do

  • Design, implement, operate, and maintain secure LAN, WAN, VLAN, wireless, routing, switching, firewall, and unified communications solutions.
  • Install, configure, upgrade, and troubleshoot Cisco network equipment and Palo Alto or comparable next-generation firewall services.
  • Monitor network availability, capacity, performance, events, and security conditions while leading complex incident resolution.
  • Troubleshoot NIPR, SIPR, and AFSCI connectivity, VTC infrastructure, and mission enclave services.
  • Execute USCYBERCOM and AFCYBER taskings and validate patches, software, configurations, and network changes in test environments before production deployment.
  • Provide technical leadership, peer review, mentoring, root-cause analysis, network modernization recommendations, and technical documentation.

Requirements

  • Active TS/SCI clearance required.
  • At least five years of government or contractor experience with network management, network operations, or IT systems engineering as a primary duty.
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in information technology management, cybersecurity, computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, or a related field; equivalent specialized experience may be considered.
  • Network+ CE or CCNA certification required.
  • Expert-level knowledge of Cisco enterprise networking, routing, switching, firewalls, Palo Alto technologies, software-defined networking, identity-based access, and network segmentation.
  • Ability to design and troubleshoot secure classified and unclassified enterprise networks and lead controlled changes, testing, incident response, and documentation.

Nice to have

  • CCNP, CCIE, or CISSP certification.
  • Experience with DAF or AFOSI networks, VTC services, mission enclaves, network automation, configuration management, observability, and performance analytics.
  • Experience implementing Zero Trust network access and segmentation in classified environments.
