Salary: $49,000–$61,800 per year

What you will do

  • Schedule simple and complex appointments for new and established patients, including coordination with multiple care providers and specialists.
  • Perform front-desk check-in and check-out, patient navigation, demographic updates, insurance updates, and non-clinical patient support.
  • Manage referrals, medical records requests, Epic referral workqueues, In Basket messages, and appointment-related documentation.
  • Coordinate prior authorizations, insurance verification, clinical intake, and special billing and revenue processes.
  • Serve as a liaison between patients, families, providers, the main campus, outside centers, and referring organizations.
  • Recognize emergencies, resolve operational issues, support clinical systems training, and maintain front-desk supplies and schedules.

Requirements

  • Associate degree, or three years of equivalent experience; a bachelor's degree is preferred.
  • Three years of experience in a medical or customer service setting; a degree may substitute for experience.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance plans.
  • Experience or demonstrated ability to perform complex scheduling and prepare administrative reports and correspondence.
  • Excellent computer, communication, customer service, multitasking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to use DFCI and local hospital systems, including Epic and Meditech.
