Focus on using advanced testing capabilities, developing failure analysis techniques, and collaborating with Stress, Design, Chief Engineering, and Airworthiness teams.
Location: Bristol Area, United Kingdom; onsite at the Aerospace Integrated Research & Test Centre (AIRTeC)

What you will do
- Investigate parts and materials from in-service aircraft, production programs, and certification testing.
- Analyze failure modes and mechanisms in metallic materials, composites, and surface protection systems.
- Use advanced material testing and analytical capabilities at AIRTeC.
- Present evidence-based data and conclusions to materials experts, designers, Stress teams, Airworthiness, and program chief engineering authorities.
- Complete at least one rotational placement with cross-functional engineering partners during the two-year graduate program.
- Develop into a Materials Failure Analyst through technical and soft-skill development.
Requirements
- Degree or equivalent qualification in Materials Science.
- Recent graduation or initial professional experience conducting analytical tests and material characterization in a laboratory.
- Strong verbal and written communication in English; English-language applications and CVs are required.
- Collaborative approach and motivation to contribute to future aerospace innovation.
- Existing right to work in the United Kingdom or eligibility through another route is required.
- Security clearance is required or eligibility for clearance must be demonstrated.
