Manufacturing Director (Life Sciences)

Location: Cardiff, United Kingdom; on-site with up to 20% travel

What you will do

• Lead Manufacturing, Manufacturing Engineering, and Reliability Engineering teams across automated medical device, laboratory device, cleanroom, and biology production operations.
• Deploy hirify.global Business System tools, including Daily Management, Standard Work, Value Stream Mapping, 5S, Total Productive Maintenance, structured problem solving, and Kaizen events.
• Improve safety, quality, delivery, cost, OTD, yield, OEE, equipment availability, labor productivity, and overhead productivity.
• Partner with EHS, Facilities, Supply Chain, Quality, and DBS leaders to address performance gaps and deliver operational improvements.
• Optimize process capability, equipment performance, technology deployment, validation readiness, and asset reliability.
• Develop manufacturing and engineering talent, strengthen leadership capability, and build succession depth.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Business, Manufacturing, Engineering, Science, or equivalent experience.
• Significant progressive experience leading manufacturing and engineering in complex, high-volume, lean-driven environments.
• Experience working in regulated, highly automated manufacturing environments.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, presentation, interpersonal, communication, collaboration, and influencing skills.
• Ability to work across manufacturing, cleanroom, laboratory, biological production, and office environments.
• Ability to travel up to 20% of the time.

Nice to have

• Experience in life sciences, biotechnology, diagnostics, medical device, or pharmaceutical manufacturing.
• Experience leading large-scale transformations through Lean, continuous improvement, or hirify.global Business System methodologies.
• Experience developing manufacturing leadership talent and succession pipelines in global organizations.
