TL;DR
Operations Manager (Manufacturing) (Lean Manufacturing/TPM): Leading plant manufacturing operations to deliver safety, quality, cost, delivery, and team morale results with an accent on production performance, continuous improvement, and team development. Focus on analysing line losses, solving root causes, optimising labour and equipment utilisation, and implementing Lean Six Sigma and TPM improvement projects.

Location: Chesterfield, United Kingdom; onsite manufacturing plant role

hirify.global operates a manufacturing plant where the role leads production operations and cross-functional improvement activities.

What you will do

  • Lead plant manufacturing operations across safety, quality, cost, delivery, efficiency, and team morale.
  • Set and monitor manufacturing KPIs, run-rate targets, schedule adherence, waste, downtime, and cost performance.
  • Analyse production and line-performance data, identify losses, lead root-cause problem solving, and implement corrective actions.
  • Create and deliver manufacturing improvement plans and continuous improvement projects covering waste, efficiency, bottlenecks, changeovers, and reliability.
  • Manage, coach, and develop Shift Leaders and production teams, including objectives, training plans, skill matrices, performance, and engagement.
  • Coordinate with Engineering, Planning, Warehouse, Quality, Safety, CI, and Process Engineering teams on production priorities and technical actions.

Requirements

  • Production Manager experience with evidence of excellent results.
  • At least five years of experience in a TPM, technical, or manufacturing environment.
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or higher.
  • Strong leadership, people management, coaching, planning, delegation, and communication skills.
  • Advanced problem-solving experience, including 8D, UPS, A3, Fishbone, Why-Why, and WPA methods.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical knowledge, plus experience with manufacturing processes, QA standards, safety requirements, CI, TPM, KPIs, budgets, and productivity improvement.

Nice to have

  • Bachelor’s degree in an engineering-related subject such as Mechanical, Electrical, or Automation Engineering.
  • Experience in an FMCG business, preferably in a blue-chip organisation.
  • Experience using Excel, Oracle, MyShopFloor, Outlook, and Word.
