Station Engineer Senior-Principal (Substation Engineering)

Location: On-site in New Albany, Ohio, United States

Salary: $110,000–$129,000 per year for Engineer Senior SG8; $116,000–$151,000 per year for Engineer Principal SG9.

What you will do

• Provide engineering for substation capital projects.
• Complete grounding, lightning shielding, and lighting studies.
• Prepare station configurations and layouts and develop substation solutions with project planners.
• Create functional and detailed station project scopes with project stakeholders.
• Support project managers with station engineering activities and deliverables in Primavera P6 schedules.
• Oversee internal designers and consulting engineering firms, collaborate across departments, and support construction and field service personnel in resolving project issues.

Requirements

• Senior level: 4 or more years of related engineering experience with a bachelor's degree from an ABET-accredited engineering program, or 2 years of experience with a master's degree or PhD in engineering.
• Principal level: 8 or more years of related engineering experience with a bachelor's degree from an ABET-accredited engineering program, or 6 years of experience with a master's degree or PhD in engineering.
• Professional Engineer registration in any U.S. state or Puerto Rico is preferred; it is generally required for the Principal position unless waived by the organization’s EVP.
• An engineering technology bachelor's degree may satisfy the degree requirement when paired with a certified PE license.
• Alternative qualification paths require a non-ABET engineering bachelor's degree plus a master's degree or PhD from a university with an ABET-accredited bachelor's program.
