Salary: $128,000β$160,000 annually, plus up to a 16% bonus

What you will do
- Lead detailed engineering, design, calculations, scoping, budgeting, construction support, and closeout for protection and control projects.
- Develop and maintain protection schematics, one-line diagrams, equipment specifications, and engineering documentation.
- Ensure designs comply with company requirements, local, state, and national codes, regulations, and standards.
- Oversee engineering studies assessing equipment and protection-system performance, effectiveness, reliability, and operational efficiency.
- Review and approve engineering work, coordinate with cross-functional project teams and contractors, and support project managers and unit leadership.
- Lead the technical development of the Protection Engineering group, including mentoring and guidance for department engineers.
Requirements
- Bachelorβs degree in Engineering.
- 10+ years of relevant engineering experience.
- Expertise in power-system protection, substation protection and control design, protection coordination analysis, testing, commissioning, and analysis.
- Strong knowledge of engineering design, construction in utility environments, regulatory requirements, and national and international standards.
- Ability to interpret, document, review, and approve engineering work and to solve complex technical and analytical problems.
- Ability to work from the Rochester, New York office.
Nice to have
- Professional Engineering license.
- Demonstrated project management, cost estimating, budgeting, and least-cost planning experience.
- Experience influencing technical decisions, mentoring engineers, and leading complex projects.
