VP of Operations (Manufacturing)

Location: Edgewood, Maryland, USA; the position is based at the Edgewood site.

Salary: $169,414–$304,946 per year, with potential discretionary annual bonus or commissions.

What you will do

• Develop and execute the Operations strategy across manufacturing, supply chain, sourcing, logistics, quality, engineering, facilities, and safety.
• Lead Integrated Business Planning to align demand, materials, capacity, workforce, inventory, and financial objectives.
• Improve supplier performance, material availability, cost competitiveness, working capital, and business continuity.
• Partner with Programs, Technology, Sales, Service, and Finance on new product introductions, production readiness, and customer commitments.
• Oversee capital planning, facilities, capacity, automation, operational footprint, budgets, and annual operating plans.
• Drive Lean and continuous improvement initiatives that improve safety, quality, delivery, cycle time, inventory, process yields, and shop-floor productivity.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Management, or a related discipline.
• At least 15 years of closely related manufacturing operations experience, including operations, quality, and/or materials management.
• At least 10 years of supervisory or management experience.
• At least 7 years of experience in a continuous improvement or Lean Manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of advanced manufacturing and experience across multiple areas such as manufacturing, quality, engineering, materials, procurement, or customer interfacing.
• Ability to work at the Edgewood, Maryland site in the USA.

Nice to have

• MBA or master’s degree in a technical field.
• Experience consolidating multi-building or multi-site facilities and integrating acquisitions.
• Experience in a union environment or within a Special Security Agreement environment.
• Experience interfacing with internal and external customers.
