Nurse Practitioner II, Psychiatry

Location: Crockett, Texas, United States. Part-time, grant-funded position; future employment may depend on continued funding.

What you will do

• Conduct clinical assessments and diagnostic evaluations for patients with mental health care needs.
• Provide crisis intervention and counseling, and monitor adherence to treatment plans.
• Prescribe and monitor psychiatric medications and consult with providers on treatment plans.
• Document patient encounters accurately and comply with departmental policies, licensing requirements, and applicable laws.
• Coordinate with the Integrated Behavioral Health unit, complete outside referrals, and support patient education.
• Participate in continuing education and potentially instruct or precept nursing students.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Nursing, or equivalent education and experience qualifying the applicant for a Texas Nurse Practitioner license.
• At least two years of related experience.
• Texas Registered Nurse and Advanced Practice Registered Nurse licenses with prescriptive authority are required.
• Board certification in mental health, DEA registration, and BLS certification are required.
• All licenses and certifications must be maintained throughout employment.

Nice to have

• Prior experience with medication-assisted treatment (MAT).
• Bilingual communication skills.
