What you will do

  • Conduct clinical assessments and diagnostic evaluations for patients with mental health care needs.
  • Provide crisis intervention and monitor adherence to treatment plans.
  • Prescribe and monitor psychiatric medications and consult with providers on treatment plans.
  • Document patient encounters accurately and promptly in electronic medical records.
  • Coordinate counseling activities, internal referrals, outside referrals, and patient education with the Integrated Behavioral Health unit.
  • Support student and staff education through preceptorship, continuing education, and scholarly presentations.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Nursing, or equivalent education and experience qualifying the applicant for a Texas Nurse Practitioner license.
  • Texas Board of Nursing Registered Nurse and Advanced Practice Registered Nurse licenses with prescriptive authority are required.
  • Board certification in mental health, DEA registration, and BLS certification are required.
  • Maintain all licenses and certifications throughout employment.
  • Work in accordance with departmental policies, licensing-board requirements, and applicable local, state, and federal laws.

Nice to have

  • Prior experience with medication-assisted treatment.
  • Bilingual communication skills.
