Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner

What you will do

• Provide direct mental health care in an integrated behavioral health setting for patients with psychiatric, substance use disorder, and behavioral health conditions.
• Conduct history, psychosocial, and physical examinations; diagnose acute and chronic conditions; formulate care plans; order and interpret diagnostic tests; and manage medications.
• Coordinate patient care with clinical staff, physicians, psychiatry providers, consult services, and the integrated behavioral healthcare team.
• Document clinical encounters and maintain patient records while providing education to patients and families.
• Serve as a clinical resource through consultation, education, literature review, seminars, conferences, and simulation.
• Participate in continuous improvement, scholarly projects, grant data reporting, and Medication Assisted Treatment for substance use disorders.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in nursing or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• At least one year of directly related experience as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner.
• Certified Nurse Practitioner and licensed Registered Nurse credentials.
• CPR certification.
• Ability to work onsite in Bryan, Texas, on a full-time basis.
• Employment is grant funded, so future employment may depend on continued funding; credential verification and a criminal history investigation are required.

Nice to have

• Experience with Medication Assisted Treatment.
• Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner certification.
• Bilingual communication skills.
