Senior Automated Process Equipment Engineer (Machine Vision)

Location: Remote in the United States; role associated with Wilmington, Delaware. Travel to manufacturing sites averages 50% of the time.

What you will do

• Lead global automation initiatives and multiple concurrent capital projects from concept through commissioning.
• Set global equipment standards, develop technology roadmaps, and drive deployment across manufacturing sites.
• Design, improve, commission, and qualify automated equipment for discrete and web-handling processes.
• Provide expertise in machine vision, robotics, barcoding, scanning, mechanical layouts, electrical design, and network architecture.
• Collaborate with site stakeholders and external suppliers while minimizing production disruption and customer-change impact.
• Mentor engineers and provide technical leadership across the global automation community.

Requirements

• 20+ years of experience designing and maintaining automated equipment in discrete and web-handling manufacturing.
• 10+ years of program management experience leading concurrent capital projects with responsibility for scope, schedule, budget, and resources.
• 10+ years of experience with web-handling vision programming environments, including ISRA Vision and Dr. Schenk.
• 10+ years of experience with SolidWorks CAD/CAE and Product Data Management.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, with coursework in machine vision and automated inspection.
• Experience with machine risk assessments, SISTEMA Performance Level calculations, and mechanical or electrical fabrication technology.
