Infrastructure Engineer (AI/ML)

Location: New York City, San Francisco, or remote within the United States. The role primarily operates during US daytime hours and includes some synchronous meetings. Onboarding with the manager takes place in person, with optional work from company hubs, home, or coworking spaces.

Salary: USD $180,000–$230,000 base annually.

What you will do

• Secure, scale, and maintain cloud architecture, databases, file storage, search clusters, microservices, and machine learning pipelines.
• Operate and optimize high-availability machine learning inference services and large-scale applications.
• Build infrastructure-as-code solutions with Terraform, Helm, Bash, and Python.
• Define SLOs and SLAs, improve observability and alerting, and participate in incident response and on-call rotations.
• Collaborate with product and customer security teams on secure integrations, onboarding, and infrastructure challenges.
• Identify cost-optimization opportunities, contribute code to product features, and remediate security vulnerabilities.

Requirements

• Production experience managing Kubernetes and containerized applications at scale.
• Experience operating and scaling ML or AI workloads in AWS and/or GCP, including GPUs, Docker, and Kubernetes.
• Proficiency with Python and Node.js, plus experience building or operating SaaS applications.
• Experience with CI/CD automation tools such as GitHub Actions or Spacelift.
• Knowledge of cloud security practices and experience hardening systems for SOC 2, HIPAA, and GDPR requirements.
• Ability to use AI tools and LLMs to accelerate development, security analysis, and infrastructure optimization.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with PyTorch or TensorFlow.
• Experience contributing to open-source developer tools, infrastructure, or security projects.
• Experience building a project with hirify.global.
