Senior Infrastructure Engineer (AWS)

Location: Remote anywhere in the United States; San Francisco Bay Area employees work in a hybrid setting.

Salary: $190,000–$206,000 annually, plus equity.

What you will do

• Design, build, and maintain scalable, reliable, and secure platform infrastructure for engineering teams.
• Develop and manage Infrastructure as Code with Terraform and make major infrastructure architecture decisions.
• Build reusable platforms, abstractions, and AI-enabled tools for engineering teams and internal applications.
• Improve reliability, performance, and cost efficiency through monitoring, logging, metrics, and alerting.
• Implement infrastructure security, compliance, disaster recovery, and business continuity practices.
• Lead incident response and postmortems while mentoring engineers and documenting architecture and operational procedures.

Requirements

• 5+ years of hands-on experience building complex cloud solutions with multiple AWS services.
• Strong experience with Terraform, AWS CLI/API, cloud monitoring, alerting, and log aggregation.
• Understanding of SQL and NoSQL data systems.
• Experience developing and maintaining software in security and regulatory compliance environments such as SOC 2, PCI-DSS, or HIPAA.
• Availability for on-call support and experience designing highly available, resilient services.
• Strong communication, organizational, mentoring, and technical strategy skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with GraphQL as a database front-end API.
• Experience with Postgres architecture, database performance, and observability.
• Experience working with AI and providing AI tools for engineers or internal applications.
• Experience designing for and supporting security audits.
