Head of Clinical Data Innovation (AI)

Location: Europe with hybrid or remote options

Minimum salary: €59,000 annually, based on the role being located in Italy; compensation and benefits vary by local market.

What you will do

• Define and execute the clinical data innovation roadmap across the Global Rare Disease portfolio.
• Evaluate, implement, and govern AI-enabled solutions for data review, cleaning, query generation, medical coding, quality management, database builds, metadata generation, and regulatory submissions.
• Modernize clinical data management processes, operating models, and capabilities across internal and outsourced studies.
• Own clinical data technology strategy across EDC platforms, data lakes, analytics environments, AI platforms, and visualization tools.
• Enable advanced analytics and near real-time monitoring of data quality, study conduct, operational performance, and risk indicators.
• Build and prioritize an innovation portfolio, establish business cases and KPIs, and present outcomes to senior leadership.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Life Sciences, Pharmacy, Biostatistics, Data Science, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 10+ years of experience in the pharmaceutical, biotech, or CRO industry with strong clinical development exposure.
• Solid experience in Clinical Data Management and the clinical trial data lifecycle.
• Proven experience applying AI, automation, advanced analytics, or digital innovation to clinical development.
• Experience with clinical data technologies, data architecture, interoperability, and data standards.
• Strong cross-functional leadership across Clinical Development, Data Management, Biostatistics, Clinical Operations, and IT/Digital, including vendor and technology management.
