Lead Mechanical & Piping Engineer

Location: Warrington, United Kingdom; partial remote (hybrid)

What you will do

• Lead mechanical and piping engineering and design across multidisciplinary EPCM and EPC projects from concept through execution.
• Deliver projects across oil and gas, renewable natural gas, and utilities industries.
• Ensure the quality, checking, approval, and compliance of mechanical and piping design deliverables.
• Lead and mentor engineers and designers while planning activities and managing scope, schedule, and budget constraints.
• Provide technical input on change events, early warnings, estimates, design reviews, and client-facing decisions.
• Oversee equipment packages from external vendors and provide expert technical support to the engineering team.

Requirements

• Degree-level qualification in Mechanical Engineering, such as BEng or MEng.
• Demonstrable experience as a Lead or Principal Engineer on multidisciplinary engineering projects.
• Experience producing or contributing to mechanical specifications, design bases, scopes of work, calculations, drawings, 3D models, schedules, vendor bid analyses, risk assessments, safety studies, and compliance assessments.
• Experience applying piping and vessel design codes, including ASME and BS EN standards.
• Knowledge of CDM regulations, the Pressure Equipment Directive, and/or Pressure Equipment Safety Regulations.
• Able to meet UK security clearance requirements.

Nice to have

• Chartered Engineer status with IMechE or an equivalent professional institute.
• Experience working with IGEM standards.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD, Autodesk Plant3D, Navisworks, and Caesar II.
