Lead Electrical Engineer

Location: Liverpool, based at the Knowsley headquarters with flexible hybrid working and some UK and overseas travel.

What you will do

• Lead electrical design activities from concept and sales support through commissioning.
• Produce detailed designs, calculations, specifications, and component selections.
• Review and approve construction designs for compliance with engineering standards and quality requirements.
• Perform load flow, fault analysis, and protection studies using tools such as ETAP.
• Support tenders and conceptual designs with technical input.
• Coordinate with mechanical engineers, CAD draughtsmen, project managers, clients, contractors, and partners.

Requirements

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, or HNC/HND with significant relevant experience.
• At least 5 years of experience in power generation or a related industry, preferably working with 1–25 MW systems.
• Strong knowledge of LV and MV systems, control, and instrumentation.
• Proficiency with MS Office and electrical design tools such as ETAP.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD and project planning tools.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, planning, and workload-management skills.

Nice to have

• Professional registration with the IET.
• Experience with CHP systems and hybrid power applications.
