What you will do
- Deliver mechanical building services designs from feasibility and concept stages through detailed design, tender, construction, and completion.
- Design heating, ventilation, cooling, domestic water, and other mechanical systems, including specifications for specialist systems such as BMS.
- Prepare and check calculations, drawings, specifications, and coordinated design packages using Revit, AutoCAD, and IES.
- Coordinate mechanical services with architectural, structural, electrical, and sustainability disciplines.
- Carry out building surveys, verify existing mechanical installations, and attend construction sites for monitoring and clerk of works duties.
- Support project leads, clients, contractors, surveyors, and project managers while managing and mentoring engineers.
Requirements
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineering.
- Demonstrable experience delivering mechanical designs in a consultancy or design-and-build environment.
- Experience taking project design responsibility from feasibility through detailed design and construction.
- Strong knowledge of UK Building Regulations, CIBSE guides, and relevant industry standards.
- Strong technical skills with relevant design and Microsoft software, including Revit, AutoCAD, or IES.
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines, coordinate engineers, and deliver quality client-focused services.
Nice to have
- Working towards professional registration with CIBSE or IMechE.
