Machine Operator I (Automated Manufacturing)

Location: Buffalo, NY; onsite manufacturing plant work. Rotating 12-hour shifts include 6:00 AM–6:00 PM and 6:00 PM–6:00 AM teams, with rotating weekends and holidays.

Salary: $18.00–$25.00 per hour, dependent on experience. A discretionary annual bonus may also be provided.

What you will do

• Operate and monitor automated production equipment, including saws, stackers, ovens, conveyors, and automated material-handling systems.
• Monitor HMI control screens, production setpoints, and alarms; make routine adjustments and escalate issues.
• Load and unload materials, maintain production supplies, and complete equipment start-up, shutdown, and routine checks.
• Perform dimensional, appearance, color, labeling, and packaging quality inspections.
• Document production data, downtime, quality results, and shift handoffs.
• Report mechanical, electrical, automation, and quality issues while supporting troubleshooting with Maintenance and Leads.

Requirements

• Manufacturing experience in production, assembly, automated equipment, CNC support, or a similar environment.
• Ability to read and follow written and verbal instructions and complete production documentation.
• Basic math and measurement skills.
• Ability to follow plant safety procedures, recognize defects, and respond to process abnormalities.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, perform repetitive tasks, and lift or move materials as required.
• Must be at least 18 years old and able to pass a drug test.

Nice to have

• Experience with automated manufacturing, CNC-related environments, robotics, automation, or HMI/PLC interfaces.
• Extrusion, polymer manufacturing, or process manufacturing experience.
• High school diploma or GED.
