Focus on operating farm machinery, processing hand-harvested corn, supervising student workers, and performing physically demanding seasonal work outside standard office hours.
Location: Lubbock, Texas, United States; onsite field work required

What you will do
- Prepare and package seeds for field trials and breeding nurseries.
- Plant and maintain field plots, applying herbicides, fertilizers, and irrigation according to research protocols.
- Pollinate and harvest nursery crops, harvest yield trials, and process hand-harvested corn ears.
- Collect field experiment data and samples, enter data into a computer, and maintain seed inventory.
- Operate, service, and maintain research equipment, vehicles, and machinery.
- Assist with hiring and supervising student workers.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- At least three years of related experience.
- Knowledge of farm equipment and general office procedures, computers, and office equipment.
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions, work with minimal supervision, multitask, and cooperate with others.
- Ability to lift moderately heavy objects, exert heavy force, work outside standard office hours, and work weekends and holidays during planting, pollination, and harvesting seasons.
