Research Specialist I

Location: Onsite at the TTI RELLIS campus in Bryan, Texas; no hybrid remote option is available. The role requires routine field travel, including work on weekends, after normal business hours, and at night as needed.

What you will do

• Conduct field travel, traffic measurements, and data collection.
• Install field equipment, configure sensors, perform site checks, and remove equipment.
• Manage laboratory equipment and material inventory, including maintenance.
• Perform laboratory testing and scientific measurements as needed.
• Compile, document, catalogue, enter, and review research data and records.
• Assist senior researchers with additional assignments and develop training materials when needed.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Four years of related experience.
• Ability to routinely travel for fieldwork and work beyond normal business hours, including weekends and nights.
• Ability to work in hot, cold, and extreme weather conditions and lift or exert force on objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Valid USA Class C driver’s license or ability to obtain one within 30 days of employment.
• Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to multitask and work cooperatively.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree in an engineering-related field, preferably Civil Engineering.
• Two to four years of fieldwork experience.
• Knowledge of traffic measuring equipment.
