TL;DR
Research Specialist II (Public Health): Supporting community-engaged health research projects in nutrition, chronic disease prevention, food systems, and technology-based interventions with an accent on study operations, IRB coordination, participant data collection, and research reporting. Location: Dallas, Texas, United States; onsite at the hirify.global Center at Dallas

What you will do

  • Support the design, implementation, operation, and reporting of community-engaged health research studies.
  • Coordinate research project procedures, including human-subjects protocols and Institutional Review Board applications.
  • Recruit participants, collect and manage data, conduct fieldwork, and coordinate study logistics with schools, clinics, and community partners.
  • Develop and refine curricula, health-promotion materials, reports, manuscripts, grant proposals, presentations, and manuals.
  • Conduct literature reviews and assist with qualitative and quantitative data cleaning, documentation, acquisition, merging, and analysis.
  • Develop and manage online research tools such as Qualtrics and REDCap.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in public health, nutrition, exercise science, health communication, health administration, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Six years of related experience.
  • Ability to safeguard confidential information and handle sensitive data securely in compliance with privacy policies.
  • Strong written and oral communication, planning, organization, prioritization, independent working, multitasking, and collaboration skills.
  • Knowledge of word-processing, spreadsheet, database, presentation, and collaboration applications, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Teams.

Nice to have

  • Master’s degree in a related field.
  • Fluent written and verbal Spanish and English.
  • Experience with community-engaged research, evaluation, research management, data collection, or clinical research implementation.
  • Experience with human-subjects research, IRB applications, scientific writing, grant proposals, and manuscript editing.
  • Experience in maternal and childhood nutrition, underserved or urban populations, food systems, nutrition security, or community-based health interventions.
