Impact Officer - Scotland

Location: Glasgow, Scotland — hybrid. This is a place-based role requiring the successful candidate to be based in the region.

Salary: £29,000–£36,000 per year, depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience.

What you will do

• Support organisations throughout the grant-making lifecycle, from initial enquiry and assessment to funding recommendations.
• Manage a portfolio of funded organisations, monitor progress and review reporting requirements.
• Identify risks, capture learning and assess the impact of hirify.global Children in Need funding.
• Build relationships with applicants, funded organisations and sector partners, including through project visits.
• Collaborate with the Scotland team and the wider UK charity on presentations, learning and decision-making.
• Support the annual hirify.global Children in Need Appeal through local fundraising, impact stories and events.

Requirements

• Experience in grant making or grant management, including assessment, monitoring and funding recommendations.
• Strong understanding of Scotland’s third sector, public sector and funding landscape, particularly concerning children and young people.
• Strong analytical, decision-making, organisational and risk assessment skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with experience building relationships across diverse organisations and communities.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively, with strong digital skills and proficiency in Microsoft 365 and database systems.
• Relevant PVG/DBS and employment eligibility checks are required before starting.

Nice to have

• Experience presenting information or delivering training to varied audiences.
• Experience using grant management systems, CRM databases or other data management tools.
• Experience working with children and young people or organisations supporting them.
