Clinical Teaching Assistant for Nursing

Location: Bryan, Texas; work is primarily performed in hospitals, clinics, and long-term care facilities.

What you will do

• Supervise and guide nursing students during patient care in assigned clinical settings.
• Facilitate the application of the nursing process and evaluate clinical judgment, critical thinking, and nursing skills.
• Provide immediate, individualized feedback and lead pre- and post-conference discussions.
• Ensure compliance with clinical policies, safety protocols, HIPAA, infection control, and professional standards.
• Document student performance, conduct formative and summative evaluations, and provide grading rationales.
• Collaborate with clinical faculty, the Clinical Coordinator, agency staff, nurses, and physicians.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing from an accredited institution.
• Current, active, and unencumbered Registered Nurse license in Texas.
• Strong nursing skills, communication, organization, leadership, mentoring, and feedback abilities.
• Competence with Microsoft Office, electronic health records, and learning management systems.
• Ability to work flexible clinical schedules, including days, evenings, and/or weekends, and to stand and walk for prolonged periods.
• Ability to manage a significant caseload and multiple deadlines.

Nice to have

• Clinical instructor or nursing education preceptor experience.
• Master of Science in Nursing or enrollment in an MSN program.
• Nursing specialty certification in areas such as medical-surgical, critical care, or pediatrics.
